Clonturk Community College Website Accessibility Statement 1.0

Clonturk Community College is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020.

This accessibility statement applies to content published on www.clonturkcc.ie.

1.1 Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, due to the non-accessible content listed below.

1.2 Non-accessible Content

We are working on a continuous basis to improve the level of compliance and to address the following issues:

  • ARIA Attributes: Some ARIA attributes need to be corrected.

  • Colour Contrast: Some visual elements have insufficient colour contract for visually impaired users. A revised colour palette and optional Dark Mode are in development.

  • Portable Document Format (PDF): Some documents on the website are in PDF format and may not meet accessibility standards. These documents may:

    • Be missing document titles and alternative text for images.

    • Not specify the correct language for certain passages.

    • Contain links, lists, tables or headings that are not correctly tagged or structured.

    • Contain complex formatting that may be difficult to navigate with assistive technology.

We are currently updating key documents to ensure accessibility or provide alternative formats, without changing their URLs. Some PDF documents on the site are owned by third parties and therefore we do not have control over same and so are exempted.

  • Video and Multimedia: Some embedded videos may not contain captions or transcripts. These are under review, and improvements will be implemented where possible.

This is not an exhaustive list of non-accessible content.

1.3 Exempted Content

  • PDF documents published before 23 September 2018 are exempt from these guidelines, unless they relate to services that a member of the public must use.

  • Videos or audio recordings published before 23 September 2020 are also exempt from these guidelines.
