School Improvement Plan (SIP)

Parent/Guardian and Teachers Association

In Clonturk, parental involvement is highly valued amongst the school community. About every six weeks a collection of parents and staff meet to discuss educational policy, school fundraising and to plan the organising community events. Our parent body is very active in the life and development of Clonturk and their voice is very much heard. To date, the PGTA have worked to establish a strong school community amongst our parents, students and staff. They have also been involved in the development of school policies.

The PGTA Annual General Meeting (to which all parents/guardians/school staff are invited to attend) is held in September/October when the committee are elected for the school year. At least one parent/guardian representative of each of the class years are requested. Then PGTA committee meetings are held every 4 to 6 weeks during school terms. If a parent/guardian has a request/suggestion for any of the committee members, they can be contacted via the email address: clonturkpgta@gmail.com. Committee meeting minutes are published on the parents section of the school website.

Parents can help out in the day-to-day running of Clonturk by assisting with coaching, driving groups of students to matches, supervising the table tennis at lunchtime and helping out with events. Please note, parents may be asked to receive garda vetting clearance prior to participation.

If you would like to sign up or have any queries, you can contact the PGTA on clonturkpgta@gmail.com.
